Dog of the week - Training Club

Pip the Springer Spaniel – 10 Years Old

Pip was rescued at 6 years old with no knowledge of his history.

Current Course – Gold Obedience
Previously Completed – Bronze Obedience & Silver Obedience

Why have you chosen to come to training?
Well as a Springer Spaniel I felt that Pip needed to be kept busy and entertained whilst keeping his brain working and focused. He’s very food and ball driven so training with him is very easy.

Have you seen any improvements in him?
When I first got Pip, he used to pull like a train on his lead but since implementing training I have found him so much easier to walk. He no longer pulls and walks to heel very well. I’ve also found he has become a lot better behaved from when I rescued him and has come on leaps and bounds.

What have you enjoyed about training with us so far?
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed seeing him improve and seeing how quick he is to learn. As a rescue I didn’t know anything about his past so didn’t know what he’d been taught or what he knew to do. He’s completely me surprised me with how amazing he has been.

What do you plan on doing in the future after Gold Obedience?
I would love to look into Rally Obedience, something to keep him working and thinking whilst keeping him out of trouble!
