Swimming is an all-around healthy activity for your dog. It provides everything from exercise to stimulation, and a needed release for all that energy dogs have.
Exercise and Playtime
The most obvious benefit of swimming for your dog is exercise. Dogs often have excess energy to burn which needs to be channeled into activities that keep them active and healthy, and keeps them from being destructive out of boredom. Swimming is good for the whole body, from cardio to muscles. When a dog can swim, they are naturals and adapt to it very quickly. A good swimmer is fun to watch in the water.
Dogs who love to swim get a great deal of pleasure out of the activity. Some dogs will swim for hours, which is phenomenal exercise.
Swimming Tires a Dog Out
An added benefit of all that exercise and play in the water is that it will make your dog very tired. A day at the beach, pool or lake will help your dog sleep like a log afterward. In fact, you may not be able to rouse them from sleep after an exhausting day in the water. This can be an excellent benefit of swimming.
Even dogs can get bored and restless. Varied activities help to keep your dog alert, focused and happy. Exercise and play time help stimulate their minds, and varying their activities helps as well. Take advantage of the times when you can bring your dog to the water and give them needed stimulation.

**NOTE only friendly and sociable dogs are welcome.

If you are not sure whether your dog can benefit from socialising please book a socialising assessment with us.

Socialisation is so important for your dog's development. Dogs are social creatures and benefit from mixing in groups. Puppies and young dogs learn many social skills at these gatherings - watching, listening and copying others in the group. Older dogs can benefit from that extra bit of excitement and stimulation - helping them to stay young at heart and fitter for longer. Plus teaching those youngsters how to behave!
Meeting up with the gang is exactly what many dogs enjoy doing. So, join in the fun and let your dog learn to be........a happy, sociable dog!

It is with great sadness that due to the current situation we are facing with Covid 19 and the pending extinguishment of Dogs Country Club in the coming months due to HS2; we have made the decision to bring forward the permanent closure of Dogs Country Club Ltd from Friday 3rd April 2020.

To offer a continuation of service to our key workers, Dee Waddup our Day Care Manager has agreed to carry on offering a day care service in her own name. From Tuesday 7th April 2020 Dee’s Dogz will provide a day care service from Tuesday to Friday 6.30am to 6.30pm for all key workers at the same site.

A new booking system will be going live on Wednesday 1st April – clients are able to create their own profiles to make and manage bookings through the mobile app. Again, in a bid to reduce contact all payments will be made through the app, using its secure integrated paying system.

Please contact Dee on 07885 758923 or email

If you are not currently a DCC client but are a key worker in need of day care please do get in touch.
