Behavioural Consultations

Welcome to the Canine Behaviour Centre at Dogs Country Club! Our team of certified canine behaviourists is dedicated to helping dogs and their owners overcome challenging behaviours and strengthen the human-canine relationship.

Our behavioural consultations are conducted in a safe and controlled environment, either at our Behavioural Centre or in the comfort of your own home. We understand that each dog is unique and requires individual attention, which is why our sessions are tailored to meet the specific needs of your dog and your family.

During our initial consultation, we will take the time to understand your dog's history and any current behaviour issues. We believe that understanding the root cause of a behaviour problem is crucial in creating an effective modification plan. Our team will then work with you to develop a personalised action plan that suits your lifestyle and goals.

We also understand the importance of collaboration and communication with your veterinarian. That is why we require a referral form from your vet before proceeding with our behavioural consultation. This ensures that all possible contributing factors, including any underlying medical conditions, are taken into consideration in the development of the behaviour modification plan.

At Dog Country Club, we are passionate about improving the lives of dogs and their owners through positive reinforcement and force-free methods. We do not condone or use any form of punishment, as we believe in building trust and a strong bond between you and your dog.

In addition to our behavioural consultations, Dogs Country Club also offers a range of training classes for puppies and adult dogs. Our experienced trainers use scientifically proven techniques to teach basic obedience skills, socialization, and manners.

At Dog Country Club, we are committed to continuing education and staying up-to-date with the latest research and methods in dog training and behaviour. We regularly attend seminars and workshops, as well as conduct our own research to ensure that we are providing the best possible care for your furry family members.

Canine behaviour consultations involve a thorough assessment of the dog's history, careful observation of their behaviour and environment, and collaborative efforts with the owner to create a personalized treatment plan. This may include making adjustments to the environment, implementing effective training techniques, and incorporating behavioural modification exercises. We are dedicated to providing compassionate and evidence-based solutions for addressing behaviour issues in dogs. The approach centres around understanding the dog's perspective and identifying the root cause of the problem, rather than merely treating the symptoms. You will receive a certified comprehensive assessment report and a written plan detailing how to address these behaviours. Rest assured that our goal is to deliver the best possible outcomes for you and your beloved pet.

Do I need a Veterinary Referral for Behavioral Consultations?

Yes, a veterinary referral is required for all behaviour consultations. This is due to a strong link between health and behaviour and the need to consider all possible contributing factors. Behaviour problems can be the first indication of a physical problem and this needs to be ruled out prior to starting behaviour modification. A referral form from your vets must be received at the time of booking in order to proceed with your appointment.

Behaviour consultations can be conducted either at home or at the Dogs Country Club Behavioral Centre. Each behaviour consultation lasts for 2 hours, divided into two 60-minute sessions.

  • First session: 1 hour, on-site at Dogs Country Club Behavioral Centre/Home Visit/Remote option available in selected cases.
  • Second session: 1 hour, on-site at Dogs Country Club Behavioral Centre, to receive a personalised comprehensive behaviour report which will include a review of the behaviour and an in-depth discussion on the modification plan, and action plan.
  • Follow-up sessions are optional but may be advise depending on your dog's need.
