Impulse Control 

Does your dog get way too excited when it sees other dogs, people or in new environments? 

Does your dog jump up, bark or pull on lead?

Does your dog chase things that move and suddenly and have zero recall when something is moving around them? 

Then our Impulse Control course may just help you combat these things. This course will focus on:

  • Self Control
  • Calmness
  • Over excitement/arousal
  • Prey Drive

What the course will cover:

  • Impulse control games
  • Boundary games
  • Recall
  • Patter games
  • Lesley McDevitt CU exercises 
  • Default behaviours
  • Clicker Training

Dogs must be comfortable working around other dogs, this course is not for reactive dogs as will include high energy exercises and proximity work. 

Both toys and food will be used as reward. 

A bed will be needed, a raised bed is ideal.

Things you need to bring:

  • High value treats (Chicken, cheese, ham, etc)
  • A toy (one that your dog can tug)
  • A bed, a rasied bed off the floor is preferable 
  • A training long line (small dogs 5 metres, medium dogs 10 metres, large dogs 20 metres)
  • A standard lead and collar or harness. No slip leads or check collars.
