Positive Approach to Training
At Dogs Country Club, we believe in a clear, consistent, and fair approach that your dog can easily understand. We take the time to assess your dog’s learning style and personality to really bring out the best in your four-legged companion.
Our residential programme combines both positive reinforcement (rewards, praise, and play) to teach the desired behaviours and clear communication to help your dog understand when they make a mistake in a gentle, effective way. This provides the clarity and structure needed for reliable, lasting results creating a positive learning environment.

What Will Your Dog Learn? Tailored to Your Needs
Our curriculum is flexible and entirely tailored to the customer’s needs and training goals. The Residential General Obedience Programme focuses on the essential skills needed for a calm and respectful companion.
Examples of the skills we can cover include:
- Foundation Commands: Reliable Sit, Down, and Stay with increasing duration and distraction.
- Leash Manners: Loose Lead Walking and an immediate response to directional changes, making walks stress-free.
- Off-Lead Control: A strong, reliable Recall (coming when called), ensuring safety and freedom in approved areas.
- Impulse Control: Mastering essential skills like waiting patiently at doorways/gates, not jumping up, and settling on a ‘Place’ or mat.
- General Manners: Appropriate greeting behaviours and calm conduct in various settings.
- The Power of Play: Utilising play as a reward to build toy drive and engagement.
Appropriate Social Skills: Through positive experiences, we encourage healthy relationships with people and dogs, helping your dog build confidence and develop appropriate behaviour in different social settings.

Residential Obedience Programme:
Our Obedience Training Programme focuses on teaching essential commands, improving manners, and ensuring reliable responses in a variety of environments. This is ideal for kickstarting your dogs training, building a well-mannered dog in public environments and finetuning their skills.
Topics which are commonly covered for our customers on this programme are:
- Walking nicely on a lead in distracting environments
- Coming back when called first time, every time
- Settling in pubs or cafes
- Focus and Engagement with You
- The power of play as a reward
- Calm appropriate greeting of people and dogs
- Crate training
Residential Behavioural Programme:
For dogs who struggle with more challenging behaviour problems, we offer our Residential Behavioural Programme. In this programme your dogs training is tailored to your dogs individual challenges to provide a comprehensive training experience for them.
As behaviour problems have an underlying emotional component, they do take longer to resolve fully even if the behaviour appears resolved. This is because they have the coping skills and strategies to know what they are supposed to do. Due to this after your dogs stay, you will have follow up sessions to ensure your dog is still doing well and to provide you support.
Each dog’s behavioural case is unique, and as such, our tailored approach ensures the best possible outcome. Depending on the severity of the behavioural issue, additional Home Visits or 1-2-1 Training Sessions may be recommended after the handover to provide ongoing support and reinforce progress.
Our goal is to create lasting, positive changes for both you and your dog. For more information or to discuss your dog’s specific needs, please complete the Enquiry Form Here
