At Dogs Country Club, we know it’s not always possible to attend in-person dog training sessions. That’s why we offer online dog training consultations, providing expert support for you and your dog from the comfort of your own home. Our trainers have 5+years of proven results in supporting owners like you via online consultations.

Why should I choose online training?

With a variety of options available, its hard to decide whether in-person, home visits or online consultations are the best option for you and your dog. There are multiple benefits to online training:

  • Eliminates the stress of a new person in the home – for dogs who struggle with visitors, or where the presence of a new person would make it harder for your dog to work on the problem.
  • If the problem only occurs at home – for problems such as separation anxiety, online appointments work best as you need the support in the home environment
  • Access expert support no matter where you live – with online support, we can support you no matter where you live making training much more accessible for everyone.
  • If you can’t travel – whether its travel limitations for you, or if your dog struggles to travel in the car, you should never miss out on training support for you and your dog.
  • Pre-vaccination support for puppies – we understand that bringing a new puppy into the home can be overwhelming and you may need help before your puppy is able to go out into the world, our online consultations bring the training to you so there is no delay to much needed help.
  • Safe and convenient – with appointments which fit around your schedule, online consultations are a convenient option in situations where coming to us right away is not ideal.
Online Consultations Dog Training and Behaviour

Do you not need to see my dog in person?

This is a question we are asked very commonly and is generally the opposition to online consults. However, it is important to note that even if your trainer was there in person, they would not be allowing the dog to practice the behaviour you are seeking help for. For example, if your dog was barking & lunging at other dogs, they would not accompany you on a walk where your dog did this.

If necessary and safe to do so, they may ask you to collect a video, but in most cases they will use your description alone to inform them. During the consultation, they will give you advice to best manage your pet so that the consultation runs as smoothly as possible and the problem behaviour is not practised.

What Can Online Dog Training Help With?

Online consultations are conducted over Google Meets, when you book you will be sent a link to join the meeting room. You do not need a google account to join, but you do need a device with a camera, speaker and microphone (tablet, iPad, laptop, smartphone). Your trainer will ask you questions to gather a clear picture of what you need help with and will then support you via the video meeting to teach your dog in the comfort of your own home.

Following your appointment or chosen package, it may be appropriate to graduate onto Home Visits (depending on location) or in-person session on site with your trainer to progress your training.

For issues such as Separation Anxiety, online consultations work best and you are likely to continue on a virtual basis for your behaviour support. This is because with the issue happening at the home, in-person sessions or home visits create an unrealistic situation where you cannot accurately practice your training. Your trainer watching from the screen means they can see your dog in real time when you leave the room to be able to support you more effectively.
