Our Gundog Training Classes for pet dogs are a brilliant outlet for your dog’s natural behaviours. Through fun exercises, this class is a chance for you to work with your dog’s natural instincts – this class will improve their engagement with you, and focusing on you more.
We will take you through the basics of Gundog Training such as whistle recall, sit stay and heelwork, alongside stop cues, directional work and hunting! Your dog doesn’t have to be a gundog breed to take part, as long as they have an interest in retrieving, come and have a go!
What does my dog need in order to join the class?
To join the class, your dog must be have:
- Reasonable recall
- Basic lead walking
- The ability to maintain a calm behaviour
- The ability to have a safe and enjoyable time outside on walks
What can my dog get out of gundog training?
- Mental stimulation; A brilliant brain workout for your dog! The focus involved it’s great mental stimulation & enrichment
- Bonding; You’ll get to work through trust earning exercises and become closer as you trust each other’s instincts
- Physical activity; Our class encourages the retrieving of dummies which means there is an aspect of exercise for you and your dog. They are sure to be ready for a nap after both the mental and physical exercise!
- Connection to nature; we spend so much time sat at desks or on the sofa that we forget just how beautiful our local area is. Set in our fantastic secure fields with access to the lakes, our location is the perfect backdrop for your training lessons.

Training Methods & Class Size
Using positive reinforcement training this means we use praise and rewards. Our group classes are kept small for quality training. Limited to just 6 dogs you’ll get plenty of time with the trainer and space in our secure meadow fields for the training. We can work around distractions and also achieve our goal – an AMAZING pet gun dog!
Pricing
The course consists of 8 sessions, each lasting 1 hour. Our training program is designed to be enjoyable, informative and fun with new skills developing each week! The cost is only £20 per week, making the total of the course £160.

Breeds which Love Gundog Training?
Any breed can join our Gundog Training Class, as long as they have retrieving instincts! Breeds which are particularly good at Gundog Training include: Retrievers, Spaniels, Pointers, and Setters breeds.
