Calm, Experienced & Individual Care at Dogs Country Club

Finding the right place to board a reactive dog can feel overwhelming. At Dogs Country Club, we understand the stress and worry that can come with leaving your dog – especially when traditional boarding environments just aren’t the right fit.

Since 2015, we’ve been caring for, training, and supporting dogs with a wide range of needs. Our experienced team brings together expertise in Animal Management and Care, Dog Training, and Behaviour, allowing us to offer thoughtful, informed boarding options for dogs who need a more individual approach.

Experienced Care You Can Trust

While Dogs Country Club is well known for our Board & Play Dog Boarding – where friendly, sociable dogs enjoy full days of supervised play and companionship – we also recognise that not every dog is comfortable mixing in a group environment.

Our Dog Training Department works with reactive dogs every single day, giving us a deep understanding of the triggers, boundaries, and management strategies that help these dogs feel safe and settled.

Many of our reactive dog boarding clients come to us after years of not being able to go away, simply because they didn’t feel there was anywhere suitable to leave their dog. Supporting these owners – and their dogs – is something we take great pride in.

A Stimulating Stay – Without Group Play

If your dog isn’t able to mix with other dogs, they can still enjoy an exceptional, enriching boarding experience with us.

Reactive dogs in our care benefit from:

  • Access to multiple secure paddocks, allowing them to play, explore, and relax safely
  • Private time in our spacious meadow fields, including swimming in our fresh water lake
  • One-on-one activities such as fetch, enrichment games, and exploration with our trained team
  • Plenty of individual attention, interaction, and calm companionship from staff who understand reactive behaviour

Every day is structured to provide mental stimulation, physical exercise, and positive experiences – all without the pressure of social interaction if that isn’t right for your dog.

A Thoughtful, Individual Approach

We aim to create a calm and enjoyable stay for dogs who need space, predictability, and experienced handling. While we may not be the right environment for dogs with severe or extreme reactivity, we are always happy to have an open and honest conversation about your dog’s needs.

If you’re unsure whether your dog would be suitable for boarding with us, we encourage you to get in touch. Our team will take the time to understand your dog, discuss their behaviour, and explore whether we can offer them a safe and positive stay at Dogs Country Club.

Reviews

Amazing place! Took our dog reactive lab, or nervous Nelly lab and our new rescue from Bosnia, not only did Dave help with swapping our fields for something more suited, he provided help and advice and how to help our new addition with recall! Lovely welcoming service, ready and greeted us at reception to show us around! And WARM WATER washing station! Great pond, plenty space, seating and lots to play with the doggies loved it more than we did! X”

“We have a Romanian Street dog reactive to people some dogs and has fear based aggression. We met with Dave the owner and of course Gillie was initially reactive to him. We booked a trial board of 2 nights as The Dogs Country Club catered for reactive dogs. We thought this would absolutely be a failure and our dog wouldn’t be let out at all as they wouldn’t be able to handle her. Dave reassured us they would try their best, a few hours after leaving her we received a video of a very happy playful girl with the first handler stroking her. We continued to receive these whilst she was there and we are now looking into reactivity classes there and will definitely be using their boarding services again. I would 100% recommend using them for your reactive dog.”
