Finding the right place to board a reactive dog can feel overwhelming. At Dogs Country Club, we understand the stress and worry that can come with leaving your dog – especially when traditional boarding environments just aren’t the right fit.

Since 2015, we’ve been caring for, training, and supporting dogs with a wide range of needs. Our experienced team brings together expertise in Animal Management and Care, Dog Training, and Behaviour, allowing us to offer thoughtful, informed boarding options for dogs who need a more individual approach.

While Dogs Country Club is well known for our Board & Play Dog Boarding – where friendly, sociable dogs enjoy full days of supervised play and companionship – we also recognise that not every dog is comfortable mixing in a group environment.

Our Dog Training Department works with reactive dogs every single day, giving us a deep understanding of the triggers, boundaries, and management strategies that help these dogs feel safe and settled.

Many of our reactive dog boarding clients come to us after years of not being able to go away, simply because they didn’t feel there was anywhere suitable to leave their dog. Supporting these owners – and their dogs – is something we take great pride in.

A Stimulating Stay – Without Group Play

If your dog isn’t able to mix with other dogs, they can still enjoy an exceptional, enriching boarding experience with us.

Reactive dogs in our care benefit from:

Every day is structured to provide mental stimulation, physical exercise, and positive experiences – all without the pressure of social interaction if that isn’t right for your dog.

We aim to create a calm and enjoyable stay for dogs who need space, predictability, and experienced handling. While we may not be the right environment for dogs with severe or extreme reactivity, we are always happy to have an open and honest conversation about your dog’s needs.

If all goes well, you’ll then be invited to book a Overnight Trial Stay with our Dog Boarding Team, allowing your dog to experience our environment gently before staying overnight. If this goes well, you’ll be able to book your overnight stays with us.

We booked a trial board of 2 nights as The Dogs Country Club catered for reactive dogs. We thought this would absolutely be a failure and our dog wouldn’t be let out at all as they wouldn’t be able to handle her. Dave reassured us they would try their best, a few hours after leaving her we received a video of a very happy playful girl with the first handler stroking her. All new clients will need to book a Reactive Dog Boarding Viewing and Assessment with our Dog Behaviour Team. These sessions are with your dog and thoughtfully designed for reactive, anxious, or behaviourally sensitive dogs who require a more considered approach to care.

This private consultation provides your dog with the opportunity to explore our environment in a calm, controlled setting, free from pressure or overstimulation. We take the time to understand your dog’s individual needs, triggers, and routines, ensuring we can provide a safe, structured, and supportive boarding experience.

We don’t charge any more for Reactive Dog Boarding and have everything your doggy needs for their stay. All you need to bring is their food.

– Boarding Kennel Suites ( 3 Dogs ) £137.20

A day is determined as 00:00am to 11:59pm. Charges apply from 00:00am. Irrelevant of the time of collection, charges will be made for that day.

A non-refundable deposit of 50% is required upon booking. We cannot confirm bookings or hold dates without it and at the time of booking you agree that we can charge your card for this. The remaining balance is payable no later than 2 weeks before your boarding date.

Cancellations must be a minimum of two weeks before the boarding date and your deposit is non-refundable.

Our peak season dates fill up quickly, and every Spring/Summer we receive numerous calls from disappointed pet owners who missed out on securing a spot. To avoid missing out, we highly recommend booking your dog’s boarding stay as early as possible.

After you have completed the Reactive Dog Boarding Assessment, here’s how to book your dogs stay with us. 

Start by creating an account on our online booking system. Simply click here and fill in all the required details. Once your account is set up, follow these simple steps to complete your booking:

Select Boarding
Add your Check in and Check out dates
Select the number of dogs boarding
Please include any notes if needed

You’ll also be required to answer our Boarding Q&A

To secure your booking, we will confirm availability upon receiving your boarding request. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to finalise the reservation, as we are unable to hold dates without it.

As a new client, you will need to book an overnight Trial Stay too.

Overnight Boarding Drop Off & Pick Up Times

Monday to Friday
Boarding drop offs are: 8 – 10am
Boarding pick ups are: 1 – 5pm

Saturday & Sundays
Boarding drop offs are: 9 – 11am
Boarding pick ups are: 2 – 4pm

If you need to drop your dog off earlier than our check in opening time a £10 fee will be charged

If you fail to collect your dog before our boarding pick up closes a £30 fee will be charged
